Tell us about your business.

Irregular Sleep Pattern is a brand of bedding and sleepwear aimed at ‘sartorial extroverts’

What inspires you when you are working or creating new work?

Mil says ‘what I really love is clearing the kitchen table, laying out a huge piece of paper, and working in great sunlight - so basically getting off the computer!’

What are the core values in your business? (eg. sustainability)

Irregular, irregular & irregular… We are making products in an irregular way: ethical / organic / small batch; we are communicating our brand in an irregular way: open, honest & from the heart; and we are designing products that look irregular, in a fabulous way.

What is the biggest goal for your business?

Being able to pay ourselves - we still both work paid jobs. But otherwise, continue building our fabulously irregular customer base which feels like a joyous community.

What is your favourite product you make and why?

We only make three products: the pyjama suit, the reversible duvet set, and the fitted sheet and we love all of them for the daily joy they bring to our lives.

What would you tell your younger self? (career focused)

55 year old Mil says, ‘You’re only as interesting as your interests, so experience as much as you can because as you age, you find out that this becomes your personal DNA.’

What two things in your life can't you live without? (one life related and one business related)

Mil: good coffee, good stationary
Jolene: therapy, my notebook

Please come up with one question that we can ask in our next interview. This could be as random or quirky as you want it to be.
